Makeup mirrors: useful lighting and magnification

Lighting the face before enlarging detail
Magnification helps inspect a precise area, but a restricted field can make the overall makeup result harder to assess. Lighting and its distribution also affect perceived colour. Compare a full-face view with a closer one, keeping a consistent reference light when judging foundation matching and the transitions between different makeup textures.
Planning tabletop or portable use
Stability, tilt and height affect comfort when both hands are occupied with application. For an illuminated model, examine power supply and maintenance instructions; for a folding version, consider protection during transport. Strong magnification is not automatically the best choice for every gesture or for every preferred viewing distance from the mirror.
