Luxury soaps: scent, lather and everyday use

Looking beyond an attractive bar

A scented soap can turn washing into a sensory experience, but sculpted shapes and decorative wrapping do not explain its cleansing action. Examine the cleansing base and the intended area, such as hands or body. A cleansing bar and a traditional soap may look alike while relying on different types of formulation.

Allowing the bar to dry between washes

A draining holder helps maintain a soap’s shape and prevents it from remaining continuously wet. For a gift, also consider fragrance strength and the recipient’s preferences. If washing becomes uncomfortable, a more suitable cleanser and a shorter washing gesture are more useful than seeking an increasingly abundant lather.
