Storing luxury cosmetics: practical everyday habits

Give opened cosmetics a stable storage place

Good storage begins with the directions on the packaging. Avoid leaving skincare in sunlight, beside a radiator or inside a hot car, where formulas and containers face unnecessary exposure. A clean location at a moderate, reasonably stable temperature also makes it easier to keep track of the products already opened in your routine.

Protect the contents each time you use them

Close caps after use and handle cosmetics with clean hands or applicators. Do not add water to thin a formula, and do not assume refrigeration is appropriate for every product. When transferring an item into a travel container, retain its essential instructions and make sure the new container closes securely and suits the intended contents.
