Halal lip balms: waxes, comfort and product choice

Read the wax information carefully

Balms may use plant waxes, synthetic materials or animal-derived ingredients. Halal and vegan describe different sets of criteria: beeswax, for example, calls for considering the relevant standard rather than drawing an automatic conclusion. Evidence should concern the complete balm, not simply the main wax or oil highlighted in its product description.

Choose comfort for a product used repeatedly

Fragrance, perceived taste and texture are especially relevant to something applied to the lips. A certified formula may still be unsuitable for a personal sensitivity. Compare instructions and ingredients, and seek advice if the lips remain cracked or irritated instead of continually adding balms with different flavours in search of an immediate answer.
